Big Country Equestrian Club
Accessible Schooling Shows and Equestrian Events
Our Background
The Full Story
In an area culturally focused on western disciplines, it was difficult for community members to season their riders and horses in English disciplines without having to haul their horses across the state. Several riders voiced their frustrations of being financially or logistically challenged in polishing their riding skills, which led to the establishment of the Big Country Equestrian Club. Focusing on Eventing, Dressage, and general English riding, the Big Country Equestrian Club’s mission is to provide the local area of the Big Country a safe and positive environment to school and grow as equestrians. We recently have included more disciplines and remote outreach.
Our Services
What We Provide
Schooling Shows
We focus on lower level english riding for our shows. We currently offer three schooling shows a year, followed by one more formal show at the end of the year. We will be expanding our shows starting in the 2024 show season.
Clinics and Education
Starting soon, our club will be hosting a variety of clinics focused in Dressage, Jumping, and safety. We hope to host summer camps that can support a wide range of ages and skill levels in the 2024 year.
Support and Networking
We recognize the challenge of a niche riding discipline in a area where it is difficult to manage financially, logistically, and emotionally. As a group we hope to bridge the gap and fill in needs where we can as a community. This can be sharing resources, posting sales information, vetted labor, and general support. Our area is fortunately non toxic and supports everyone's success and we hope to foster that spirit.
