Big Country Equestrian Club

Accessible Schooling Shows and Equestrian Events

Our Background

The Full Story

The club was established in response to the growing demand for local schooling level equestrian events in the West Texas area. Riders often expressed their frustration in finding safe and appropriate spaces for new riders without having to haul their horses across the state. The club, therefore was formed to provide these spaces and has thusly grown into a thriving community of similar minded people. Since 2023, riders have been able to compete with their peers and grow their skills in an environment that is not just competitive, but also encouraging.

What We Provide

Schooling Shows

We focus on lower level schooling shows that are designed for mostly youth and amateur riders. We do also offer custom classes for our local professionals so they may have a venue to season themselves or their green horses for more advanced competition.

Discipline Focus: Jumping, Dressage (English/Western), Working Equitation, Trail, Gymkhana, Speed Events

Clinics and Education

While we don't have any clinics on schedule for 2025, we do promote and support local clinicians who come to our area. By attending these clinics, club members can earn points towards end of year awards.

Support and Networking

We recognize the challenge of a niche riding discipline in a area where it is difficult to manage financially, logistically, and emotionally. As a group we hope to bridge the gap and fill in needs where we can as a community. This can be sharing resources, posting sales information, vetted labor, and general support. Our area is fortunately non toxic and supports everyone's success and we hope to foster that spirit.
